The following problems was already reported/found with iPadOS 14 (iOS 14):

1) When using "keyboard simulating foot pedals", the virtual keyboard doesn't work

Problem description:

When you use a "keyboard simulating foot pedal", it is not possible to set the cursor into the search field or any other text field. Therefore the virtual keyboard doesn't appear and you cannot type text.

Workaround variant 1:

Switch of "Use keyboard adapter" in SongBook+ settings of "keyboard simulating foot pedal" and do not use the foot pedal for the moment.

Workaround variant 2:

Use a MIDI foot pedal instead of a "keyboard simulating foot pedal". Some foot pedals by AirTurn allow to switch it into a MIDI mode (mode 7) and then connect it as "Bluetooth le MIDI" device and use it as MIDI foot pedal in SongBook+.

Current state of the problem:

We are in contact with AirTurn, which created the driver we use in SongBook+ for "keyboard simulating foot pedals". We already got a beta release with a bugfix and are currently testing that.

Un updated version of SongBook+ which is fixing the problem will be available soon.

Update 04.10.2020: The new version 4.0.4 of SongBook+ is available and fixes the problem.

2) Tho sliders In global equalizer are displayed very small and on a wrong position

Problem description:

When you work with audio files and use the Equalizer feature of SongBook+, it is currently not possible to use all the frequency sliders, because two of them appear very small and on a wrong position.

Workaround:

If the equalizer has wrong frequency filter settings and you cannot correct them, you may switch the equalizer off in SongBook+ settings to get a non-filtered audio output.

Current state of the problem:

We could fix that problem.

Un updated version of SongBook+ which is fixing the problem will be available soon.

Update 04.10.2020: The new version 4.0.4 of SongBook+ is available and fixes the problem.

3) Some MIDI files are not correctly replayed

Problem description:

Some midi files don't send out at the begin all the contained midi events and then the events to configure the required instruments may be missed. in our tests this mainly happens when the midi files contain many SysEx events at the begin of t he file.

Workaround:

Remove unneeded SysEx events from the midi files.

Current state of the problem:

We assume a bug in Apples iOS 14 and could fix it partially with a workaround.

There will be an update available soon with that workaround. But this solution only works, when a specific midi port is selected in the media player settings of SongBook+ for the midi file player. Using the midi file also to trigger midi foot pedal actions will not be possible then.

Update 04.10.2020: The new version 4.0.4 of SongBook+ is available and fixes the problem.

ATTENTION: You must select a specific MIDI output in the settings at "Media player" -> "Used MIDI output".
